Each person named was put forward by the office that filed the record as its contact for inbound investment. The names are on the 56 profiles, not on this index: the source publishes them so an investor can reach one office, not so one page can hand out every official's details at once.

Nearly everyone is courting the same few countries
United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Canada, France and South Korea each appear on the target list of at least 40 of the 56 jurisdictions — United Kingdom on 47 of them. At the other end, 21 of the 46 countries named appear on fewer than 5 lists. A target list states an intention, not investment received: it tells you who is being asked, and how many others are asking the same people.

A blank here is an unanswered question
The federal form has 11 substantive headings. 4 of the 56 jurisdictions answered all of them; half the file left 4 or more unanswered; one record — Northern Mariana Islands — answered none of them. 9 listed no incentive at all and 27 named no site — which here usually means nobody filled the field in, not that there is nothing to report. It is why every profile ends by naming the headings its jurisdiction left blank.
How this was counted. Every figure on this page — the four counts above, these readings, and the number beside each filter — is counted from the 56 records as the page renders, so a facet count always equals what choosing it returns and no number here can drift from the file it describes. What none of it can tell you is whether any of it is still the case: the snapshot is February 2025, incentives close, and people move on.

Everything above comes from a single federal form, filled in by each economic-development office and last collected in February 2025. For 56 of the 56 jurisdictions Applied America publishes a second record as well — programs, categories and links read off the agency’s own publications rather than submitted to Commerce — and each of those profiles links across to it.

Every jurisdiction above names the countries it wants capital from. Set those lists beside the companies that already hold a U.S. medical-device or automotive registration and they mostly agree — 7 of the top 10 appear on both — until the largest source of registrations, which 11 of the 56 name. Below that, 71 countries holding 784 registrations are named by no jurisdiction at all. A registration is a filing, not an investment, and the comparison says so throughout.
