SelectUSA FDI Database · 56 states and territories
Who wants your investment, and what they offer for it
Every U.S. state and territory that told the federal government which industries it is courting, which countries it wants capital from, and which incentive programs it has on the books. The original is searchable in name only — here every filter is a link you can send.
Compiled from the SelectUSA FDI Database (FDI: foreign direct investment) — U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration. Profile text is each organisation's own submission. Snapshot: February 2025. Incentive programmes and named officials both change; verify with the organisation before relying on anything here.

Counts are read off the records, not stored — a jurisdiction showing “—” submitted nothing under that heading, which is different from having none. Each profile says which headings its jurisdiction left blank.
What else the site holds
One questionnaire, answered once
Everything above comes from a single federal form, filled in by each economic-development office and last collected in February 2025. For 56 of the 56 jurisdictions Applied America publishes a second record as well — programs, categories and links read off the agency’s own publications rather than submitted to Commerce — and each of those profiles links across to it.
The office directory, jurisdiction by jurisdictionThe other side of this
46 countries courted, and who is already registered
Every jurisdiction above names the countries it wants capital from. Set those lists beside the companies that already hold a U.S. medical-device or automotive registration and they mostly agree — 7 of the top 10 appear on both — until the largest source of registrations, which 11 of the 56 name. Below that, 71 countries holding 784 registrations are named by no jurisdiction at all. A registration is a filing, not an investment, and the comparison says so throughout.
Who states court, and who already holds a U.S. device or vehicle registrationWhat Applied America does with this
From what a jurisdiction offers to who is looking for it
Applied America, a nonprofit division of CEFA, carries public priorities to projects that get built. Part of that work starts from this directory: establishing what a jurisdiction demonstrably offers, then finding the companies and investors who need it. Embassies and investment ministries weighing U.S. sites start at Embassies & Governments; a company choosing where in the United States to locate starts at Location & Market Entry.
