• Tax Exemption

  State of Nevada Tax Abatements are regulatory abatements, regulated by statute that set criteria for each company to meet to qualify for abatements (wage, job and capital investment requirement, as well as offer health insurance for employees). Companies receiving abatements are entering into a contract (Tax Agreement) with the State. The contract allows a company to receive a predetermined reduction in its tax obligations (reduced tax payments) for a certain period of time. • University of Nevada, Las Vegas – Office of Economic Development

  The Office of Economic Development aims to help individuals and communities to achieve economic prosperity through mentorship, commercially promising technologies, and energizing events. We invite you to collaborate with us and support our mission. The National Science Foundation (NSF) announced a multi-institutional consortium – which includes UNLV and DRI – to confront the climate challenges facing the desert Southwest and spur economic development in the region. The effects of climate change are acutely evident in the American West and Southwest, from the desertification of Utah’s Great Salt Lake to the record-breaking extreme heat in Arizona and the dwindling supply of the Colorado River reaching Nevada. NSF Engines: Southwest Sustainability Innovation Engine (SWSIE) will use these challenges to catalyze economic opportunity. Led by Arizona State University and supported by core academic partners from throughout the region, SWSIE aims to establish the Southwest as a leader in carbon capture, water security, and renewable energy and bring high-wage industries to the region. SWSIE unites academic, community, nonprofit and industry partners across Arizona, Nevada and Utah who are committed to this goal.

  The University of Nevada, Reno InNEVation Center is designed to empower Nevada’s next generation of economic leaders by igniting the creative and entrepreneurial spirits in University of Nevada, Reno students, faculty, community creatives, makers, economic developers, and emerging global tech companies. InNEVation Center are a synergistic, collaborative space designed to stimulate the creation and incubation of startups and accelerate the growth of the innovation-driven economy in their region. Anyone in the community can become a member – entrepreneurs, startup companies and creatives – with privileges to the Makerspace, conference rooms, special events, co-working and networking opportunities.

GOED’s International Division works closely with the SelectUSA program of the U.S. Department of Commerce and companies from other countries who are interested in setting up U.S. operations in Nevada. GOED’s International Division works alongside their local Development Authorities to get the necessary assistance for these companies. Interblock, one of our amazing partners, is a Slovenian gaming manufacturer that expanded to Las Vegas. They are considered one of the lead developers in the world for luxury electronic table games. NOVOMATIC (Ainsworth Gaming Technology Limited) is an Austrian-based gaming supplier operating in Las Vegas. They employ over 19,000 people around the world and generated nearly 1.7 billion in Euro revenue in 2020. An Italian-based gaming company, also working in Las Vegas, called IGT focuses on creating innovative, visual games that enhance player experience. They have a global track-record of high performance and user experience. As we look to the more technological sides of our industries, we can look at Aptiv, an Irish company from Dublin operating in Las Vegas. They were the recent awardees of the 2021 Automotive News Page award, but they specialize in creating new data software for a more mobilized future, specifically for “E-mobility” as we welcome a new wave of electrification for automobiles. They have hired 180,000 people across 124 manufacturing facilities. Polam Precision Machining, Inc is a Polish manufacturing company that has their global headquarters in Carson City. With over 20 years of experience, the ensure quality, specialized parts for a variety of industries; in doing so, they support local supply chains. EnGo Planet is a smart-technology business that creates streetlights powered by solar energy. Originally from Serbia, they have expanded their business to Las Vegas, and, in doing so, they have captured the attention of many news outlets as a transformative company for urban planning. The City of Las Vegas incorporated their designs in city planning as an experimental, eco-friendly alternative to electric-based lighting, and we are excited to see the great successes for the future of this company. Pro-Project is a company from Poland with offices in Las Vegas’s Blackfire Innovation Zone. Pro-Project has caught international attention from over 100 countries for their production of instruments for testing diagnostic apparatuses used in the medical field. They continue to grow their specialization and quality of instruments for global markets through extensive patenting and software development. Magna Energy Storage HE3DA is a battery producer from the Czech Republic. Their unique batteries are in demand around the world, and they recently celebrated two years in operation in Reno, Nevada. They recently created a new partnership with Southern Nevada, where they are conducting an on-going study with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, funded in part by NASA, to test lithium battery storage in our deserts. Mining is also an essential industry in Nevada. KGHM Polska Miedź is a Polish company doing copper mining in Ely, Nevada. Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions is a German company that manufactures cement and mining products in Reno. Because of the abundance of mining in Nevada due to rich hubs of mineral deposits, we have interconnected supply chains. From mining to manufacturing, our businesses thrive.
